Looking at Things You Can't See

"While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:18

When you think of how God designed our eyes, it is amazing to take notice of the intricate detail of the eye. It is an astounding spherical piece of machinery designed by the grand designer, God Himself. The purpose of the eye is, put simply, is to be able to "see." When we look at something, we are focusing our vision on one thing. We use our eyes to look at many things in our daily life.

Notice in the verse above, that it says that we "look not at things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen."  How can a person "look" (use their vision) at the things that are not seen? If they can't see it, how can they look at it?

This is quite a paradox.

As a believer in Christ, we can "look" at the things which we cannot see, by faith. Yes, we can look around and literally "see" with our eyes tangible things. But, oh, to "see" the eternal things that are unseen. Look closely, and your eyes can see those things, too.

Why PB & J?

If you're like me, a good peanut butter and jelly sandwich always hits the spot. It's the staple sandwich...the "go to" sandwich when that pang of hunger hits in the middle of the day. It's a tested and true sandwich that satisfies the "kid" in us...as far as "food" goes.

I named this blog "PB & J Devotions" because I like the connotation it provides. This blog is simple...like a PB & J sandwich. Nothing fancy, just short blips of thoughts, ideas, dreams, and wisdom from someone who has learned a lot through the struggles of this life, but still has TONS to learn.

I will close for now, but I invite you to visit my blog anytime you get a chance. Like a good PB & J sandwich, you will want one again soon.

Blessings in Jesus' name,

Kristy Rudine
